Fractional CMO Marketing as a Systemwhere it used to be chaos

My name is Den Kondak, and I've got 7 years of experience in digital, with 5 of them in leadership roles.
I help companies build marketing from scratch or scale it. I develop Go-to-Market strategies, conduct audits, launch new channels, build departments or strengthen existing teams.
I always focus on business goals and numbers, not on guesswork.

About Me

My marketing journey began in 2018 — at Serpstat (B2B SaaS). I was responsible for how-to content and created a team that published over 250 articles in two languages, generating 6.3 million visitors to this day.
I spoke more about this project and my approach at the Ukrainian Digital Conference in Kharkiv.
Back then, I realized: an effective marketing is about systems, scalability, and automation. Not just “doing”, but building a process that works without constant micro management.
This is the kind of approach that delivers predictable results: SQLs, traffic, sales, ROMI — when the process is transparent and optimized.

  • Since 2021, I’ve worked as Head of Marketing in various businesses focused on the US market, responsible for all channels: content, SEO, PPC, email, social media, and affiliate programs.
    ● Built teams of 2 to 8 employees● Managed budgets from $5K to $200K per month● Launched new channels — from research and strategy to analytics and optimization● Continuously tested and scaled proven hypotheses
    This isn’t about chaotic attempts to “do marketing.” This is about structure.Not just “getting traffic,” but growing a business through marketing.
    In 2025, I decided to shift from a full-time role to working as a Fractional CMO / marketing consultant. Now I help tech companies (both service and product-based) bring structure to their marketing, build GTM strategies from scratch, choose the right channels, and scale predictably — without needing a full-time, high-salary CMO on staff.
    My work not only helps reduce the cost of hiring a full-time CMO but also protects against unnecessary experiments and wasted money — and, most importantly, time — on testing unproven hypotheses and learning the hard way. Others have already made those mistakes.
    It’s far cheaper to learn from others' mistakes than your own. My experience with various B2B services and B2B/B2C products in the US market is a concentrated knowledge base of those mistakes — and a set of helmets for most situations.

FAQ

Got more questions?

Here you’ll find answers to the most frequent questions. But it’s better to get an individual consultation tailored to your niche.

  • A marketing director who works with a company part-time
    (usually 10–20 hours per week), but takes responsibility for the entire marketing strategy.

    As a Fractional CMO, I join projects that need a systemic approach — not just ads or SEO, but an efficient marketing machine: strategy, team, processes, channels, budgets, etc.

  • Cost‑saving. You don’t need to pay a full‑time CMO salary of $5K+ —a business pays only for the hours when work is actually being done.
    Proven experience + quick start. You immediately get senior‑level expertise from someone who’s worked across industries, managed budgets up to $200K/month, built marketing teams from scratch, and achieved strong results.
    Clarity instead of chaos. I come not to “recommend something,” but to build a working system — with analytics, KPIs, team, GTM, and future scaling.

  • First — information gathering. I give you a short brief to understand what’s currently not working in marketing: whether there’s a strategy, which channels are used, what results, where the weak spots are.

    After that I analyze the situation and can provide recommendations on how to move forward and whether my expertise is needed.

    GTM‑strategy development (if none exists)
    I dive into your business, market, customers, analyze competitors, and form a clear action plan.

    If a working strategy already exists — we can move to its implementation.

    Implementation phase, during which I help implement the strategy, build processes, find performers, and set up the system so it works without constant manual control.

  • If you have:
    • chaos in marketing or it doesn’t work at all;
    • a product that needs scaling;
    • you’re not ready (or don’t see the point) to hire a full‑time CMO;
    • you want to move quickly, but systematically —
    then yes, it’s for you.

    It’s not suitable if you need just a channel executor
    (e.g. just run ads without a strategy), or if you expect the expert to do everything personally.

  • Formats vary widely — from a one-time audit or strategy development to full long-term partnerships, since everything is individual.

    If it’s about deep, systemic work, usually it takes 3–6 months to begin implementing the strategy, test hypotheses, see dynamics and first results.

    And if your goal is not just to solve tactical tasks but build marketing as a holistic system — that’s a longer journey.
